KBS spices up its 2008 fall lineup with
The World That They Live In featuring two leading Korean Wave stars in their small-screen comebacks: the beautiful Song Hye Kyo (
Full House) and
My Lovely Sam Soon's Hyun Bin. This interesting new melodrama reunites Song with
Full House director Pyo Min Soo, and also marks Hyun Bin's much awaited return to screen since starring in
The Snow Queen in 2006. A Korean drama about the people who make Korean dramas,
The World That They Live In centers on the personal and professional lives of those in the broadcasting industry, offering an intriguing and realistic look at drama production through the drama-worthy work and romance of two TV directors.
Popular producer/director Ji Oh (Hyun Bin) has been on a row in the last few years. He's produced several acclaimed hits, and is admired in the industry for his talent, integrity, and friendliness. A rising star in television, Joon Young (Song Hye Kyo) recently finished paying her dues as an assistant PD, and she's quickly attracting attention after winning an award at an overseas festival. The road isn't exactly all smooth though for these two outspoken up-and-coming directors as they face unexpected trials at work and in romance. Former classmates with a history, Ji Oh and Joon Young both just got out of bad relationships, and they're thinking about getting back with each other, but their romance is turning out to be as complicated as the dramas they produce.
